The lack of self-esteem and self-love is a situation we see in many of our retreat guests. It is unfortunately very common (How often do you say “I’m sorry” throughout the day?). SELF-LOVE is the current relationship you have with yourself regardless of these things. It is the ability to seek your own happiness and well-being and doesn’t depend on someone else’s opinion or external validation of you. What is the level of your self-love?

Self-love is embracing and honoring all of your emotions without self-judgment. It is acceptance of everything on your personal-growth journey, learning your life-lessons, and taking full responsibility for your every thought, feeling, word and action. It is fully caring for your mind, body and spirit and strengthening your ability to say “no” when you need to, and “yes” when you know it to be authentic and true. Self-love is creating boundaries and recognizing that you are in charge of your safety, value and power.

With assistance and guidance, you can heal life’s past wounds and traumas, whether they are from your childhood, your neglectful and demeaning parents, or a difficult or hurtful former partner or relationship.

Self-love will improve your ability for deeper compassion and empathy, it will lower your stress and increase your resilience and strengthen your willingness to take risks and expand your life experiences. It will enable your self-efficacy to see your capabilities and accomplishments, and help you set stronger boundaries.
